Dog Board and Train Walnut Creek, Pleasanton & Livermore

Help Your Dog Build Lasting Skills With Our Board and Train Program in the San Francisco Bay Area

Sometimes dogs benefit from more immersive training than owners can provide on their own. Our board and train program offers dogs the opportunity to live, learn, and practice new skills in a structured but comfortable environment.

Unlike many programs that operate like kennels, the dogs in our board and train program live in our homes and become part of our daily routine. This home environment reduces the stress that often comes with traditional boarding facilities and helps dogs learn in a setting that closely resembles everyday life.

We intentionally take only a small number of dogs at a time so each dog receives focused attention and thoughtful training. Throughout their stay, dogs work on building practical skills, developing engagement with their handler, and gaining confidence through structured training sessions, new experiences, and appropriate outlets for fulfillment.

Our goal isn’t just to teach commands. We focus on helping dogs become clear headed, capable companions who are better prepared to navigate the world and connect with their owners.

Life After Board & Train

We want to train your dog!

Our board and train program is designed to create lasting results, and that success continues when your dog returns home.

During your dog’s stay, we focus on building clear skills and strong habits. To help those skills transfer smoothly into your everyday life, we work closely with you throughout the process. For every week your dog is in training, you receive a private lesson where we show you exactly how to maintain and build on the progress your dog has made.

These sessions give you the tools, confidence, and guidance needed to continue your dog’s training at home. When owners understand the system their dog has learned, the results are not only maintained, they continue to grow.

Our success depends on your success, which is why we see training as a partnership.

And if you’re wondering, your dog will absolutely remember you. Time spent in board and train does not weaken the bond between dogs and their owners. In fact, when you return home with clearer communication and new skills, many owners find their relationship with their dog becomes even stronger.

BOARD AND TRAIN FOR PUPPIES

2 WEEK PUPPY HEAD START

Give your puppy a head start with this 2-week camp

During their stay, dogs begin developing a broader and more confident understanding of the world around them. Through thoughtful exposure and confidence building, they experience new environments, structured social interactions, and carefully guided challenges that help them grow emotionally and behaviorally.

Dogs also practice meeting and interacting with dogs of different breeds, ages, and temperaments in a safe and well-managed setting, helping them develop appropriate social skills.

At the same time, we begin building the foundation for obedience. Before commands are introduced, dogs learn how to move their bodies, focus, and engage with the trainer so the behaviors are clear, natural, and easy to understand when cues are eventually added.

Throughout this process, we also address common household behaviors and begin building practical skills that make life easier for both dogs and their owners, including:

  • Housebreaking
  • Crate training
  • Mouthing
  • Jumping
  • Demand barking
  • Introduction to leash manners

3 WEEK ADOLESCENT & ADULT CAMP

3 WEEK ADOLESCENT & ADULT CAMP

Board & train for adolescent and adult dogs

Our three-week Adolescent and Adult Camp is designed for dogs over 20 weeks of age who need help developing reliable skills and better habits. Adolescence can be a challenging stage, but with the right structure and guidance, dogs can learn how to make better choices and become more enjoyable companions.

During their stay, dogs work on practical everyday skills such as loose leash walking, coming when called, and appropriate social manners both at home and in public. We also address common problem behaviors including excessive barking, destructive habits, jumping, and poor impulse control.

Training is balanced with enrichment, new experiences, and carefully structured outings. Dogs enjoy field trips, exposure to new environments, and opportunities to practice their skills in the real world, making the learning process both productive and fun.

Through consistent training, thoughtful exposure, and daily practice, this program helps dogs build the clarity, confidence, and engagement needed to create lasting positive change.

Extended Stay Board & Train

Help overcome difficult behavioral challenges

Some dogs benefit from additional time in training. Our Extended Stay option is available for dogs who need more time to fully develop their skills or for those working through more complex behavioral challenges.

Training is a process built on trust, clear communication, and repetition. Every dog learns at their own pace, and lasting behavior change happens when dogs have the time and opportunity to truly understand and practice what they are learning.

For dogs who need that extra time, an extended stay allows us to continue strengthening skills, building confidence, and reinforcing good habits so the progress made during training is reliable and long lasting. Just like the rest of our program, training is balanced with enrichment, new experiences, and time to simply enjoy being a dog.
